My name is Lydia Brinkmeier, and I am a student at the University of Southern Mississippi MLIS program. My background as a reading teacher and dyslexia specialist led me to seek my license as a school librarian. I have worked with a wide range of learners, from struggling readers in the Read 180 to gifted students at the top of their class. Through it all, the mainstay of my teaching style has been to incorporate technology so lessons are consistently relevant and engaging. The academic experience I've gained through USM has served to strengthen my knowledge and skills in the areas of technology, service, and information systems.
This e-portfolio, specifically the Work Samples page, strives to illustrate my skills, qualifications, and dedication required to be a successful school librarian. Most of all, it illustrates my passion for life-long learning. I actively seek to acquire new knowledge and skills for myself and my team.
